From the days when we went to town on Thursdays and the four year old had this treat in a cafe. The individual meat pie was the traditional takeaway food here and is still popular.
I used to get told off for playing with my food when I was a kid (mind you, my mum was not the best of cooks and this was probably the best thing to do with it!), so these instruction brought back lots of happy memories!

i don't eat meat pues, but love apple pies...and mostly the crust...sometimes i even give the filling to hubby and just eat the crust! devilish?
Thanks for the instructions. I was clueless and just ate pies in slices on a plate before I knew this. My favorite is lemon merengue (no lid)
Unfortunately, a NZ meat pie cannot be sliced; it is full of gravy.
