See Wkipedia, Anon, but it is the texture of curdled stuff, and nasty in spite of sugar and nutmeg. others may disagree, but for me, it belongs back in the Olden Days with blancmange. [My sandwich should be more orange but the ink ran.]

spagetti sandwiches? how?

Back in the Olden Days, New Zealand spaghetti came canned in a tomato sauce. The effect was of white worms in orange goo and we loved it. It was a staple on the same shelf as baked beans [still is]. Many children had these messy sandwiches in their lunch boxes.
In the fifties, as more people travelled and more people from Europe came to live here, we became educated in the ways of pasta. Though there had been a terrible macaroni custard and the not so terible macaroni cheese.

real spaghetti, one day old and cold, makes a great sandwich filler

I love secondhand spagetti
and used to love the fakey tinned stuff
but on toast
never in a sandwich
had a tripe sausage in france last week - not good, smelt faintly of poo and tasted like wet dog
